SONG SELECTION LIST
 

Music Educators:  If you do not have the Music Educator's Packets from both Barbershop Harmony Society and Sweet Adeline's International, please contact the Jamboree Co-Chairman Charlie Oliver at cboliver44@verizon.net (H)603-929-1063; (Cell) 603-531-9737 and he will make sure you have both packets. Once you have both packets, you can let the students borrow the CDs to listen to the songs so they can select their two favorites. Each student quartet/VLQ/ensemble will prepare and perform 2 songs for performance as a quartet/small ensemble/VLQ. The song selection list is provided below, you may select 1 or 2 barbershop arrangements. These are taken from the songs in the Barbershop Harmony Society and Sweet Adeline's International's music educator packets. Packets, sheet music and learning tracks will be provided free to your school’s music educators. For your second selection you may optionally use one of your own close harmony a cappella arrangements. (no rap) Students who have participated in other barbershop choral festivals may use the songs they previously learned.

All the students will also learn “The Star Spangled Banner” and “Teach The Children To Sing” as a choral finale. Student will then be able to perform the National Anthem as various school and community events.

 Sheet music and learning tracks will be sent when you register, so register early. As soon as you select your songs, register or contact Charlie Oliver. At cboliver44@verizon.net Register ASAP to get your materials early and start the fun and learning.

Our choral finale with the combined boy's, girl's, and mixed quartets and VLQs will be The Star Spangled Banner. The sheet music and learning tracks will be sent to you shortly after you register.
 

For those of you who are coming by yourself or without a full quartet or small ensemble/VLQ, you will be assigned the following songs:

  3. The Star Spangled Banner (our choral finale for all Jamboree participants)

Jamboree Young Men's Song List

Songs may be selected from a total of 34 songs from CDs included in the Barbershop Harmony Society’s Music Educator’s Packet (MEP) and an additional Harmony Hits CD. Any song on the young men’s list can be sung by young women if they change the key into a range that fits their voice ranges.

Jamboree Young Women's Song List

Songs may be selected from a total of 23 songs from Sweet Adeline’s International Music Educator’s Packet, Young Women In Harmony Educator’s Guide and Student Songbook 1. And from Harmony Incorporated's “Songs 4 Harmony” Music Series.  Any song on the young women’s list can be sung by young men if they change the key into a range that fits their voice ranges.

Important Information About Copying Music

Each quartet be sponsored by a local barbershop chorus assigned to them by the Jamboree Chairman.  This chorus will assist the quartet with funding and acquiring the music learning CDs and sheet music. The specific details about copying and sheet music for each barbershop society are contained in this section.

All quartets must obtain legal copies of the music learning CDs and sheet music with the assistance of their sponsoring chorus.

Important Information About Copying Music

Harmony Explosion Package Silver CD

The fees for music educators are waived for copying both the sheet music that accompanies the CD and the four part learning tracks on the CD. You may copy them as needed or ask your sponsoring barbershop chapter to copy them for you. 

Barbershop Harmony Sampler for Music Educator’s Red CD

Your sponsoring barbershop chapter will purchase the learning track CDs and the sheet music for any of these songs and provide them to you.

Harmony Hits CD

There is a 40 cents per copy per song fee for copying the learning tracks on the CD. There is a nominal per copy price for the sheet music.  Your sponsoring barbershop chapter will pay the fees for copying the learning track CDs and will purchase the sheet music for any of these songs and provide them to you.

Sweet Adeline’s International’s

There is an 8 cents per copy per song fee for copying the learning tracks. There is an 80 cents per copy for sheet music.  Your local barbershop chapter will pay the fees for copying the learning track CDs and will purchase the sheet music for any of these songs and provide them to you.  

Harmony Incorporated provides the Songs 4 Harmony (public domain music) to women barbershoppers free of charge for general use and duplication. Your sponsoring barbershop chapter will purchase the learning track CDs and the obtain sheet music for any of these songs and provide them to you.
