Directions to Bandstand, Community House, and Town Docks

The Community House, Bandstand and Town Docks are all on Alton Bay. From the South, go North on Rt. 28 to the traffic circle (see map below). Proceed 3/4 around and follow the signs to Alton Bay. You will travel through Alton's downtown and when you hit the water turn left. The Community house is less than 1/2 mile away on the right along the shore of the lake.

Directions to Kingwood Golf Club

Kingswood Golf Club is located about 10 miles from the Alton Bay Community House on Rt. 28 in Wolfeboro (South Main St.) just before the Kingswood Regional High School. From the Alton Rotary, take Rt. 28 North into downtown Wolfeboro. Click the following link for Kingwood website directions.

Directions to River Run

River Run is on Rt. 28 just south of the traffic circle only a couple hundred yards on the right just before the Masonic Temple.

Directions to Alton Prospect Mountain High School

Prospect Mountain High School is located at 242 Suncook Valley Road in Alton, NH. Suncook Valley Road (Route 28) can be found just South of the Alton Traffic Circle where Route 28 and Route 11 meet (Indicated by the blue circle). Please note, as of February 16th 2005, there are no signs for the school. Be aware of the public works school crossing / school zone signs. The turn-off to the school driveway is relatively easy to notice with its own right-turn lane on the south-bound side of the road. The road also widens at the school's entrance.

Directions from the South

Drive through Barnstead, NH on Route 28 N. As you come up Route 28 North (Suncook Valley Rd), the school will be on your left (approximately 1 mile). The park "Eagles Rest" is on the right-hand side of the road almost directly across the street from the entrance to the school. If you reach the Alton Traffic Circle you have gone too far.

Directions from the North

If coming through Wolfeboro, Take Route 28 South to Alton. When you reach the traffic circle, pass the Route 11 exit and continue to the Route 28 South exit. The school is approximately 1 mile from the circle. The park "Eagles Rest" is on the left hand side of the road almost directly across the street from the entrance to the school.

Directions from the East

If you are coming from Rochester, NH take Route 11 West into Alton to the traffic circle. Complete three-quarters of the circle and take the Route 28 South exit. The school is approximately 1 mile from the circle. The park "Eagles Rest" is on the left hand side of the road almost directly across the street from the entrance to the school.

Directions from the West

If you are coming from Gilmanton, Take Route 140 to Alton. Take a right on to Route 11 and drive directly through town to the Alton Traffic Circle. As you enter the rotary, the exit for Route 28 South is the first you will encounter on the rotary. Take this exit and proceed approximately 1 mile down Route 28. Prospect Mountain High School will be on the right-hand side of the road.
